WonderRoot is excited to announce its first benefit/fundraiser. The event will be held Friday, August 5 at Eyedrum gallery located in the loft district of Atlanta. Doors will open at 7:00 pm and admittance will cost $7. The night's entertainment, starting at 8:00, will consist of poetry readings, video demonstrations, and musical performances. Witt Wisebram will be headlining the event's live entertainment with an acoustic performance. In addition to the live performances, there will be an art show featuring visual artists Monica Lee and Stephanie Dowda. All participants in the night's events are emerging local artists.
A silent auction will be held to help with the fundraising portion of the event. Items being auctioned off will include artwork by Karen Johnson, Rick Berman, France Dorman, and Jack Decker. There will also be a weekend at a beach house in Seaside, FL included in the auction, among other smaller items. Any funds that are raised at the benefit will go directly to the organizations startup fees. WonderRoot will be accepting donations in the forms of space, time, services, and money.
In order to carry out our mission, WonderRoot will be hosting a food drive. Canned food and other non-perishables will be much appreciated.
Snack food will be provided at no cost and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be
available for purchase. Contact Chris Appleton at 404-876-6171 or Chris@wonderroot.org.
