Wonders of the World: Recite June 11, 2010
8:00PM - 11:00PM
Price:  $7-$12
wonders eyedrum poster
Written by The Missoula Oblongata and presented by Twinhead Theatre, THE WONDERS OF THE WORLD: RECITE! is a sweetly bizarre and darkly funny tale about a boy and his grandmother who live in a lighthouse at the end of the world. Everyone gets cake and sees stars. There's singing, dancing, puppets, octopi, and radios--not to mention Grandma's one-time love affairs with Charlie Starkweather and Ulysses S. Grant. Plus, everyone gets cake! No, really.

Directed by James Yates and Stephanie Rucker

Rob Bullard as Eugene
Laura Krueger as Cora
Cherry DelRosario as Musician
Diana Brown as Wolfram Frybrid

The Daughter of the Father of Time Motion Study takes place in Antarctica. The Missoula Oblongata has given themselves 6'x6'x6' to tell us a story about smarmy robots (the robot's fault, or the creator's?), a walrus, and what it takes to get oneself on a postage stamp. And it involves all the wonderful twists and bizarre turns The Missoula Oblongata is known for!

Production Assistant Training Seminar June 19, 2010
8:45AM - 5:30PM
Price:  See link below

Production Assistant Training Seminar

Give us one day and we'll hand you the tools to build your career in the film industry.

Production Assistant Training Seminar (P.A.T.S.) provides on-location training for entry-level PA's. We'll provide you with a thorough orientation of the film industry. By learning the proper protocols and procedures you will be able to work confidently on any commercial, television or movie set. P.A.T.S. classes are held in cities that have successfully attracted motion picture productions, often through lucrative state tax incentives programs.
In the P.A.T.S. seminar we'll provide you:
> Comprehensive and well structured manual
> Download of 65+ industry standard forms
> Video and PowerPoint Presentation
> Instruction by industry professionals

Course Outline

The first half of the day is our “boot camp” style instruction. Practical, hands-on drills, and demonstrations that will prepare you to show up on your first day of work on a major motion picture and present yourself as the “unforgettable PA.” The skills you learn in the first half of the seminar will allow you to perform at a level of understanding and confidence to get you a ‘call back’ for the second day!
With our innovative guide, examples, and forms we will teach you the following concepts:

HALF DAY

• Your First Day
• Walkie talkie etiquette
• Set safety and protocol
• Background performers

Our full day course teaches all of the “boot camp” disciplines and prepares you for a deeper understanding of what goes on behind the scenes with the Producers, Directors, and Actors. From the page to the screen, we will bring all the elements you need to understand the PA’s role in the big picture.
The crown jewel of this seminar is our job search, resume building, and interview techniques session. With P.A.T.S. resume design, we will craft participant’s individual “industry standard” resumes using their skills, education and practical experience. Production resumes are unique and always go to the top of the pile. The advice and techniques received from P.A.T.S., prepare you for the interview, so you not only know what to expect but how to respond.
P.A.T.S. then guides you to where the entry-level jobs are found through online search and network building sites. We will help you understand how to manage the maze of gatekeepers in order to get your resume to the right people.

FULL DAY
(includes above)

• Script Breakdown
• Production Paperwork
• Resume and interview skills
• Job search techniques
• Other PA jobs

Upon Completion

P.A.T.S. sticks your foot in the door, and stays with you! Each participant's name will be entered into P.A.T.S. national database. Graduates' contact information is made available to Hollywood and local based production companies and local film professionals as a resource for crew staffing on a state-by-state basis. Furthermore, our EZine provides current topics regarding the film business. Our regional pages are updated weekly with information pertaining to your state film community.
