en Plein Air is a very special Eyedrum: Sunday Afternoon Life Drawing & Art on the Atlanta Beltline event occurring during our October Sunday Afternoon Life Drawing time slots.
This en Plein Air session happens on Atlanta Beltline's west side, just north of I-20, where Langhorn Drive goes under Westview Dr., SW. Park along the northern curve of Langhorn. A great alternative is to park by Green Leaf Park at the northern end of Napoleon Drive, enter the BeltLine, and take a short walk south to the site.
"En plein air" is a French expression which means "in the open air" and is particularly used to describe the act of painting outdoors. For these sessions, we will begin with brief poses and do longer poses of 20 to 60 minutes after a warm-up period. Participants are encouraged to bring the media of their choice (oils, markers, watercolors, gouaches, etc) and develop fully-realized painted figure studies in natural light. white umbrellas and stools will be provided for the first twenty-five (25) attendees. Eyedrum en Plein Air is free of charge, with donations accepted.
