La fin d'un siècle de Krog December 7, 2013
7:00PM - 12:00AM
Price:  Free
Since January of 2012 Brian Bannon and Bill Taft have presented monthly events in the Krog Street Tunnel to celebrate its 100th birthday. While the Cabbagetown side of the iconic railroad underpass has 1912 etched in concrete, the Inman Park side says 1913. Therefore the centennial became a two-year project. It comes to a close with a weeklong exhibit at Eyedrum Art and Music Gallery of the various art and artifacts the two have created in that time. The un-curated, ever-changing nature of the Krog tunnel’s street art--it’s the Peoples’ Cyclorama--forced Bannon and Taft’s own writing and visual art into unexpected directions. Research into the life of Fred Krog unearthed vivid details of Atlanta history.

La fin d'un siècle de Krog or The End of a Century of Krog includes commemorations of each monthly show, original collage and installation pieces, photography, video, scrolls, books and displays on the Krog family and the naming of the street. Opening and closing night performances by Bannon, Taft and special guests will include readings, live music and silent film. The End of a Century of Krog opens at Eyedrum Saturday Dec. 7 and closes Friday the 13th. Exhibit hours those nights are 7 to 10 p.m. with performances at 8.

Eyedrum Art and Music Gallery is located in C4 Atlanta’s FUSE space at 115 Martin Luther King Drive between Peachtree and Pryor streets at the historic M Rich building. Suite number is 225. Follow signs from lobby to FUSE.

Parking is available at the Underground Parking Garage – 95 Martin Luther King Drive SW,
Atlanta, GA 30303. Evening and weekend rates are only $3.

T/SMS (Tom Smith), Eyedrum denizen of yore, is home for the holidays from his ex-patriate existence in Germany and will bring his brand of noisy synth and vocals to C4's FUSE Art Center.

Also on the bill are sometimes collaborators of Smith:
