Baltimore's Curse is a tough band to classify. Jane's wavering screams resonate agony during downtrodden doom metal segments, but take on exquisite beauty when the band takes an electronic, dance vibe. They're upbeat and electronic but also slow and morose. LTH spoke with the group's two members, Jane Vincent (vocals, keys, sequences) and Logan Terkelsen (drums, sequences, keys, guitar) about the band's eclectic music and where they'll be showcasing it live.
- Louder than Hell
Re-formed remnants of Order of the Beak, Choking Sun gave their inaugural performance in 1997 at the legendary 688 in Atlanta. Their musical endeavors are laden with spoken and rhythmic samples, a diverse array of instrumentation including cello, accordion, theremin, trumpet and heavily processed bass and guitar, accentuated with overlapping textures of sung and spoken lyrics, centered around the absurdity of modern procedural existence.
