William Massey III and Orion Crook are pairing up to present two of their current works
William Massey III: "Waste (not), Want (not)"
Working with the remnants strewn in an alleyway of the century-old building that Eyedrum has recently made home, William is assimilating the broken fragments of this musical landmark's past to form a new whole. He got his tetanus shot and will wear steel-toed boots as he rolls around in the mess of historical junk the days leading up to the opening. Please come witness from the rooftop what he reconstructs from all this divided mass.
Orion Crook: "This Takes Time"
The first official viewing of this year long habitat that will live and grow in the window of 90 Forsyth. The terrarium co-constructed with Derek Dondeville and painted by Kris Pilcher will house some of Orion"s creature sculptures and horticultural arrangements. The enclosure lives off Forsyth across from the federal court house and exist for the viewer in both their occasional view while at Eyedrum or in their daily walk to and from work. Stephanie Pharr alongside other photographers are documenting the piece over the next twelve months; and together a family of artist will come together in September of next year to witness This Takes Time as the muse for their work and build a show based on the habitat and the lessons it has for us. Until then come out an join us for this opening view.
